Commuting - August 7

I woke up listening to the rain pouring outside and figured it would be a slow ride into work. The outside temp was 62F. It was raining fairly steady by the time I was ready to go which was a relief; when I first looked outside, I could barely see across the street. I don't mind riding in the rain as long as I have the right gear. Today, in addition to my regular armored gear, I also wore my one peice tourmaster rain suit.

This suit has kept me dry in every storm I have encountered on two wheels. I highly recommend it. It is a Tour Master Elite Series II One Piece Rain Suit. Today it worked great as usual, and I was completely dry by the time I arrived at work. I also decided to wear my winter gloves with the nylon "spock" overglove. These worked much better than my regular leather gloves at keeping my hands warm and dry.

The ride was faster than expected with the freeways moving at normal speeds. I practiced being as smooth as possible on the throttle and the brakes; I also doubled my following distance. The ride was otherwise uneventful.

Have a great weekend!
