Iowa To Indianapolis

I woke up early in Davenport, but after looking at my phone to see the temperature outside, I went back to sleep. I wasn't interested in riding in the low 50s. My heated coat was hanging at home in the closet. It is supposed to be summer afterall; it is only mid august!

I left when I saw it was up to 60F and headed east into the sun while admiring the clear blue sky. Beautiful riding conditions. I was prepared with a long sleeve shirt and pants, my windproof fleece, wind triangle for my neck, and all the vents closed on the roadcrafter. It was pleasant.

I spent most of the ride looking at corn fields, so I had to stop and take a picture of one.

When I arrived at my hotel, I saw this SUV with eye lashes. I've never seen a car with eye lashes, so I had to take a picture.

Tomorrow, the MSF conference starts. I am looking forward to it.

On My Way To MotoGP And MSF iRETS In Indy

A few posts ago I mentioned I hadn't had any long rides in this year, but I had a plan...

I left work early today with my SV650 loaded up and headed south east to Davenport, Iowa, my over night stop on my way to Indianapolis, IN. 330 miles later, I checked into my hotel just after the sun went down. It was a chilly ride when the temps dropped to the mid 60s.

Thursday and Friday is the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's International RiderCoach conference. I am looking forward to learning new ways of being a better coach and instructor.

Saturday and Sunday I will be at the Speedway watching the MotoGP excitement. I love watching it online, but there is something special about seeing it live. The noise. The smell. The crowd. It's a fun time.

Full Motorcycle Parking

It was great to see the motorcycle parking full today. There was only one spot open. All sorts of bikes too. A bmw, an old triumph, my sv, some cruisers and a couple sportbikes. The only thing missing was a sidecar.
