Back on the SV and Some BRC Practice

At the risk of jinxing it, Spring looks like it might be here! It was almost 50F yesterday, and I was able to ride my SV650 again. yay!

BRC Practice

After work, I met up with another RiderCoach, and we set about practicing exercises for the BRC (Basic Rider Course) we are teaching this weekend. It was a fun time on two wheels. The two hours flew by. The forecast called for strong rain. The clouds looked threatening, but we managed to stay dry.

BRC Practice

Our main training bikes this year: TU250X (below front) and a TW200 (below rear). There might have been a DR200 hiding in the back of the trailer too. The main bike looks to be the TU250X. They finally replaced all of the GZ250s.

BRC Practice

If the forecast is correct, it might be 70F tomorrow. By the same forecast, it might also snow again next week. Here’s hoping for real Spring weather as we ride into May.

BTW: So nice to be back on two wheels!!

  1. I thought that the TU250 would make a good commuter bike. Fairly light and economical.

    1. The TU is a fun little bike. I am secretly hoping my wife will buy one when she sells her GS, so I can ride it :)

  2. Those clouds look rather ominous. Glad you stayed dry. Some days we miss the little TU. best gas mileage I ever saw with it was over 80 mpg.

    Have a great weekend teaching.

    1. The clouds were dark, but they stayed away. TU IS fun. The best I've seen was 80-90MPG on my WR250R when i was first breaking it in, and being very nice to it.

Thanks. First day was interesting. We'll see how today goes.

  3. My first class of the season is this weekend too, an IRT where we do demos on our own bikes, I need to get out and practice on the Tiger this afternoon.
Still love the TU250X and was so close to buying another one before finding the XT250 instead.

    1. Cool! IRT sounds like our BRC2 where both instructors and students use their own bikes.

XT250 is fun as well. :) Have a great class this weekend!
