Keith mentioned this site when he saw I was looking for some winter gear. I'm sure I don't need it nearly as much as you in Minnesnowda. (Born and raised in MN - 23 years there, I love that place) He was right, your site was worth checking out. Good luck staying warm, and keep safe when the white stuff flies.

Brady
Behind Bars - Motorcycles and LifeAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03424120592303852860noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1204440107409695969.post-43199424179980088962010-10-12T06:55:05.571-05:002010-10-12T06:55:05.571-05:00Dear Jack: I'd have to agree, a large group of...Dear Jack: I'd have to agree, a large group of motorcycles is exciting! Especially when the bikes are as diverse and unique as the ones in your pictures. I liked the scooter sidecars, and the sidecar for the (GS) with the dog in it.

I regret that there was at least one serious accident -- but considering the number of bikes assembled for this event (1000 plus) -- the statistic is to be expected. I cannot imagine why someone would risk injury and expense torturing a rig through a stoppie.

Fondest regards,
Jack • reep • Toad
Twisted RoadsJack Riepehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07531160098262862027noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1204440107409695969.post-5427363856577930652010-10-09T08:30:33.333-05:002010-10-09T08:30:33.333-05:00Keith:

You'd be fine on city streets. Yes, awesome weather. It was 85F yesterday. I really enjoyed riding around on my scooter.

Sharon:
The St. Bernard was a drool machine this week! He is such a calm dog too. I've seen him a few times now. My wee chariot is technically a motorcycle, but its size (101cc), its automatic clutch, and it being made by a company more known for its scooters than bikes means it usally gets lumped w/ scooters. I figure with a sidecar I might be able to get it up to 20mph.....downhill LOL. But....

It has been really great weather here as well. I'm seeing more bikes on my commutes than I have all summer.

~KeithKeith - Circle Bluehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11992667666539622569noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1204440107409695969.post-43694846570204951892010-10-08T07:06:37.376-05:002010-10-08T07:06:37.376-05:00RichardM: Thanks! Minnesota ranked #7 in the country in 2007 for motorcycle ownership with roughly 215,000 motorcycles. I doubt that has gone down. We've been in the top 10 awhile. With the metro area having a few million people and motorcycles are roughly 1% of traffic, a thousand is very doable.

My source: http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/policy/ohim/hs06/xls/mv1.xlsChrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06606446271603142230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1204440107409695969.post-24589353891940673512010-10-07T23:32:35.074-05:002010-10-07T23:32:35.074-05:00Really nice pictures of some beautiful bikes.
